View all threadsHi Mark and all,
If the topic of arsenic-containing Victorian-era bookbindings interests you, please visit the Poison Book Project Wiki: http://wiki.winterthur.org/wiki/Poison_Book_Project, where you will find our bibliography on the topic, including several recordings of Zoom presentations and a link to our 2022 JAIC article, among other resources; as well as handling and storage recommendations.
The wiki also includes a crowdsourced list of known arsenical, 19th-century bookbindings, which is now at 128 volumes. If you find any such volumes in your own collections (private or institutional), I hope you will let us know. There are guidelines on the wiki for how to contribute data to the project.
Best wishes for the safe enjoyment of historical books,
Melissa
