View all threadsDear Colleagues,
Steven Loew’s -- Loew Heat-Set Tissue is available again:
Some of you may be familiar with Steven Loew and the wonderful heat set
tissue that he supplied. Unfortunately, Steven had to suspend production. A
new producer has been established using the same formulation -- see the
references below.
This mending tissue is a very thin, 5-gram per square meter tissue that is
coated with a mixture of Lascaux 303 and 498 adhesives.
The tissue is aptly named: Loew Heat-Set Tissue(TM).
The tissue is available in both 8-1/2 x 11 (grain short) and 11 x 17 (grain
long) sheets.
Features:
· This tissue is the thinnest and most translucent available with a
heat-set and solvent-set capability
· It is available in white or toned, 5-gsm kozo tissue
· Good adhesion and flexible
· Passed blocking and reversibility tests
· Passed the PAT and aging tests
· Is supplied on silicone release film to permit cutting to any shape
or size
· An initial bond is achieved with finger pressure and full adhesion
with a tacking iron set at 110C or 230 F
· Each sheet is handmade and inspected for consistent quality
Information and samples are available from Kaylee Miller at Keystone
