We appreciate everyone who submitted an entry into the competition this year and everyone who was able to attend the Conference/Exhibition in person last Thurs. and Friday. Also a special thanks to our workshop presenters at this year's conference: Erin Fletcher, Cheryl Jacobsen, Madison Bennett, and Graham Patten.
Helen Warren DeGolyer Award - Winner: Lang Ingalls
- Awarded to a binder whose combined entry (design proposal and example binding) demonstrates the ability to create an exceptional binding for New Borders: The Working Life of Elizabeth Friedlander by Pauline Paucker. Comes with a six-thousand-dollar ($6000) commission to execute the proposed binding on the competition book.
Award for Excellence in Fine Binding - Winner: Karen Hanmer
- The Award for Excellence in Fine Binding recognizes a completed binding distinguished by its structure, technique, and use of materials and comes with a two-thousand-dollar ($2,000.00) prize.
Award for Design - Winner: Beth Redmond
- The Award for Design recognizes a design proposal distinguished as an inventive, effective, and appropriate representation of the competition book, New Borders: The Working Life of Elizabeth Friedlander, and comes with a one-thousand-dollar ($1,000.00) prize.
