Hello everyone!

I hope this email finds you and yours well and staying safe despite the
Delta variant.

The Legacy Press is very pleased to announce that the long-awaited (70
years!) Coptic Bookbindings in the Pierpont Morgan Library by Theodore
Petersen has been published:
http://thelegacypress.com/coptic-bookbindings.html. The work was edited by
Frank Trujillo, book conservator at the Morgan Library & Museum.

It is available in hardcover
http://thelegacypress.com/coptic-bookbindings.html and in sets of sheets
http://thelegacypress.com/books-in-sheets.html for bindings (numbers are
limited for the latter). To place an order, please email me (
thelegacypress@gmail.com) stating what version you want (hardcover and/or
set of sheets), how many, and your complete shipping address. I will then
email you an invoice with the costs and payment options.

While at The Legacy Press website, also check out recently published books:

• Russell Maret's Visionaries & Fanatics and Other Essays on Type Design,
Technology, & the Private Press. A departure from other The Legacy Press
books, this one was designed by Russell from dust jacket to the colophon.
There are 2 editions of this book. The first is a limited-edition,
hardcover book with a loose insert of a double-sided, hand-printed sheet
featuring Russell's metal and digital typefaces. Numbers are limited, so
order your copy today! The other edition is a paperback of the same text
but without the specimen. See the webpage for ordering information:
http://thelegacypress.com/maret-visionaries.html. A few copies of Maret's
book (also without the type specimen) are available in sheets.

• Julia Miller's Tradition and Individuality: Bindings in the University of
Michigan Greek Manuscript Collection. Julia's new book is an exhaustive
description of 100  remarkable bookbindings. This book is also available in
sheets http://thelegacypress.com/books-in-sheets.html.

• Peter and Donna Thomas: Bibliography, 1974-2020. This book is a fully
descriptive and illustrated catalog of the work of two prolific and
creative book artists. It is also available in sheets
http://thelegacypress.com/books-in-sheets.html.

• Jim Horton's Commercial Wood Engraving in the 20th Century is a treasure
trove of little-known and interesting facts on this aspect of wood
engraving about which few of us are aware. I especially found very
comforting in these troublesome days the 100 pages or so of images made by
the Sander Engraving Co. for the catalogs of such firms as Sears, Roebuck
and Montgomery Ward -- images that I grew up with:

• Making Impressions: Women in Printing and Publishing, edited by Rebecca
Chung and myself, is a marvelous collection of essays centering on women in
printing/publishing, past and present, authored by women. The publication
year of 2020 is to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of women's suffrage
in the USA.

Note: Volumes 4 and 6 of Suave Mechanicals: Essays on the History of
Bookbindings are now out of print and will not be reissued.

All TLP books -- bound and those available in sheets -- can be ordered by
emailing me (thelegacypress@gmail.com). Please include your complete
shipping address with any order inquiry. I accept payments by check, credit
cards via PayPal or Square, and direct-deposit payments using Zelle. Upon
receipt of payment, I usually ship within a day.

If you have any questions or comments, please get in touch.

Continue to keep well and stay safe, Cathy
