View all threadsDear graduates of the full time bookbinding program at North Bennet Street
School,
In case you didn't get an email directly from me I'm posting this call for
entries more widely in order to catch your attention!
To be clear, this will be a special exhibit of the work of North Bennet
Street School graduates, students, faculty and advisors. We look forward to
hosting more exhibits of the work of the wider bookbinding community in the
future (our most recent exhibit was the traveling GBW exhibit, for example).
While our last bookbinding exhibit focused on fine binding/design binding,
this time we are excited to showcase the broad skills of our community.
This will be a juried exhibition with cash prizes and entries in any
category are eligible to win awards.
We welcome entries in the following categories:
Fine/Design Binding
Artist Books
Repair/Conservation Treatments
Historic models and Period-Style Rebindings
Boxes and Enclosures
Wall hanging work/“Broadsides” (Calligraphy, Printing, Decorated Paper,
etc.)
Please note that we understand that it is uncommon for objects in the
repair/conservation treatment category to be available for exhibition,
particularly if done for your institution. You are welcome to submit a
treatment report with before and after documentation—it should be in an
exhibit-friendly format such as a “poster.”
For planning purposes an "intent to submit" email is requested by September
1, 2022. Actual submissions will be due in January 2023 and a jury will
convene to select prizes and pieces to exhibit shortly after that .More
details about the jury, the specific exhibit dates, etc. TBA.
To express your interest in participating please send an email with your
name, graduation year, and contact information to jaltepeter@nbss.edu.

updates at that location.
Thanks,
