Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to seeing you all
next week. We have a lot to discuss! Below you will find the agenda for our
meeting. With more and more items that need discussion, we're going to try
to begin with those items and move board member reports to after that. As
always, please let me know if you have anything you would like to add to
the agenda.
I am sharing a couple of documents for you to look over before our meeting.
The first is the revised Chapter Handbook

to Henry Hebert, Linnea Vegh, and Erin Fletcher.) It is a long document,
but we would really appreciate your thoughts and feedback. Todd will talk
more about it during our meeting.
The second item is a spreadsheet of the vimeo account use in 2023. I've
broken it out by how many members rented/bought videos and how many
non-members rented/bought videos, as well as the total revenue. This should
help inform our vote on whether we would like to make our videos on vimeo
free to members.

Guild of Book Workers Board Meeting - January 2024 Agenda
Approve minutes from November meeting (see attachment)
Vote to make Standards videos free for all members. Videos will still be
available for non-members to rent or buy. (see attached spreadsheet for
2023 analytics)
Videos for members would be free to stream/rent, but still available
for purchase at a discounted rate. Coupon codes would still be used.
Non-members can still rent and buy videos.

Vote to move the Annual Meeting (and the beginning of board terms) away
from Standards.
The Annual Meeting will be held on zoom and recorded. What would be
an ideal time to hold the annual meeting? We need information
from the end
of the fiscal year and elections close on July 31. The Annual
Meeting would
be the final meeting for outgoing officers. First board meeting
of the new
term would be in person at Standards (depending on when
Standards is held).
Unfinished Business:
Call for a team to help review and revise the Standing Policies: 2
people.
Strategy for announcing the change in membership dues
The announcement can include the new member benefits: free Standards
videos and public directory.

I will be there!
Can we add to agenda, vote to add the Triaanual exhibitions catalog as a
regular members benefit? In previous discussions, this was brought up
alongside the adding vimeo videos as a reg benni and can also be part of
the "value added" update to membership when you also inform of the rise in
membership dues.
In relation/strings-attached to exhibit catalog becoming an all member
benefit, Exhibitions will need an actual operations budget coming from the
larger GBW budget, just like Journal/newsletter/standards....because we
also discussed the catalog no longer coming from Journal. This will need a
vote. Current budget approved from last June/July is the next catalog for
Night Circus is coming from Journal budget.
