The Guild of Book Workers is currently seeking *volunteers* for the committees listed below. You must be a Guild member to serve on a committee. The *deadline* for volunteers to express interest is *October 31st.* The Board of Directors will vote to approve committee membership at the November 2021 meeting. *Interim Newsletter Chair* Beginning immediately, GBW seeks an interim Newsletter Chair. A former Newsletter Chair will produce the December issues and will assist the Interim Chair with producing the February issue. Term ends October 2022. *Duties include:* - Coordinate all aspects of publication including layout, proofreading, printing, and delivery to the membership. -Solicit and coordinate advertisers for each issue. -Ensure that publication deadlines are met. -Finalize print layout using Adobe InDesign. Experience with InDesign is preferred. -Send final proofs and current membership to printer -Attend GBW Board meetings (6 per year) via Zoom and in-person at Standards. *Time commitment:* ASAP-October 2002. Estimated commitment is 8-12 hours per issue (6 per year), 6 meetings per year (1 hour each). *Nominating (Elections) Committee (3-5 members)* *Duties include:* - Solicit nominations for the annual election cycle - Publicize the call for nominations through various GBW outlets. - Confirm a willingness to run for office with nominees - Review nominations and send a proposed ballot to the Board of Directors for final approval. *Time commitment: *December 2021 - May 2022 *Awards Committee (3 members)* Traditionally, one of the current year's award winners will serve as chair of the committee. *Duties include:* - Solicit nominations for the Laura Young (service to GBW) and Lifetime Achievement awards - Publicize the call for nominations through various GBW outlets. - Review nominations and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for final approval - Maintain a list of potential awardees for future years. *Time commitment: *December 2021-May 2022 *Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee* General volunteers Duties and commitment TBA – please email dei@guildofbookworkers.org to express interest.
