Here is the news for the Potomac Chapter. Two photos are attached. Please
edit, cut, etc. as you would like. Thanks,

Shireen

The Potomac Chapter is planning our annual Spring Book Art Swap. The theme
this year is HOME. Participants will send their pieces to each other in
May, and we will then have a Zoom get-together to share and discuss our
projects.

Shawn Sheehy will be giving a workshop for members, "The Pure Mechanics of
Paper Engineering," on May 17 at The Frederick Book Arts Center in
Frederick, MD. In this one-day workshop, participants will assemble and
examine a variety of foundational structures based both on pop-ups (the
action is dimensional and happens when you turn the page) and movables (the
action is flat and happens when you pull a tab or turn a wheel).

Dos-a-Dos books are a playful little book style where two books live
together as one. They date back to the 16th century. This one is sewn on
cord in a gothic inspired style. Charlotte Mauler Hayes made this example
for her Cattail Run Class in October. (this goes with the photo of the
dos-a-dos book.)

Shireen Holman's new book "Memory Entangled" was accepted into the exhibits
"Under Pressure," at The Lincoln Center Art Gallery in Fort Collins,
Colorado, and Artlink’s 46th National Print Exhibition Fort Wayne, IN. (this
goes with the photo of the accordion book.)
