Hey folks,

We are rapidly moving to release all the Standards info and open
registration next week. The details are coming in by the hour, but I wanted
to give you all the opportunity to think about sponsorship opportunities
for your chapter. You don't have to give me an answer yet, but here are
some scholarship cost estimates to consider:

  • Registration fee: between $300 (student rate) and $425 (member early
    rate)
  • Hotel:  $249.00 per night x 4 nights = $996
  • Banquet: $100
  • Tours: $20

I'm waiting to hear back what the Guild's lowest break-even cost is for
registration, so you could budget for the early member rate and expect the
total to come in a bit lower. This year's location is considerably more
expensive, so just a reminder that you don't have to sponsor a full
scholarship. You can sponsor parts or team up with another chapter to share
costs, etc.

Scholarship applications will close at the end of June, so I will circle
back next month to figure out exactly how many scholarships we can award
this year. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
HH

I've been corresponding with Larry and Jenn and got a little clarification
on the numbers. The student rate is subsidized, so the regular member early
bird rate is actually our break-even cost. Here's the final total:
Registration ($425) + 4 Nights of Hotel ($1164.82) + Banquet Ticket ($100)
= $1689.82

We raised enough money at the auction last year to offer 10 scholarships.
Please let me know by Friday, June 30 if your chapter would like to sponsor
anything and I will send recommendations from the committee once
applications have closed.

Thanks!
HH
