Intro to Bookbinding 1 with Brenda Gallagher Monday – Friday, December 1-5, 2025 The American Academy of Bookbinding has added an extra "Intro to Bookbinding" with Brenda Gallagher to our winter schedule! Our Intro classes fill incredibly fast. If you are new to bookbinding and ready to start your binding journey, this class is for you! December 1-5 offers an introduction to the fundamental building blocks of bookmaking. Each student will learn the fundamentals of bookmaking and gain an understanding of paper and its grain, as well as techniques such as tearing, folding, cutting, gathering, and sewing. Brenda will also cover considerations of design, tools, materials, and best practices to help you get started with your home bindery.
